As is the Mother,so is her daughter (or son)... Ezekiel 16:44

Jarom thanks for making me be the mother I am!
I love you!

So today is Mothers Day. I want to just say To my mother.. thank you, for loving me even when I didn't deserve it. I am sure I gave you half or more than half of your gray hairs.
You are the perfect example of Charity, the pure love of Christ. You always will help anyone with whatever they need. I remember you taking people in our home to stay and you fed them and helped them. You cared for your parents until they died. I hope I can be a good mother and wife and example of Christ and his love and Sacrifice. Mom.. good luck and my prayers are with you as you have your Hip surgery next week.
I have to get up in the middle of the night with my baby still and I get cranky, because of the lack of sleep. And wiping bums and boogers, and cleaning doing laundry and dishes, isn't glorious. But when I think of what lies ahead, and that My joy is in my posterity, I know I won't remember the yucky things. It will be the moments of success and seeing my children grow and gain testimonies that will make my heart leap.

I also have to say thanks to my amazing mother-in-law. Mother of eleven children... wow. Amazing. and you raised my wonderful husband, the one who makes it possible for me to be a mother. He is so awesome and helps me in most of my mothering tasks. He doesn't do laundry, but he helps me keep it together and I know he learned so much from you. We are a team, so I give credit to my wonderful husband for making me the woman I am.

I love this quote:

" There are so many disciplines in being a parent besides the obvious ones like getting up in the night and putting up with noise during the day. And almost the hardest of all is learning to be a well of affection and not a fountain, to show them we love them, not when we feel like it, but when they do" -Nan Fairbrother

We can only try our best!

happy mothers day to me

So It was exciting that Jarom brought home a new headboard and foot board for our bed. Until now we have just had rails. He didn't bring this whole beautiful bed set, just the bed. It was in the parking lot sale for way cheap so he thought he'd give me a Mother's Day surprise. I Was glad about this since I have been struggling a little bit with mother issues. He loves me and yes getting something new always helps. ;)

My sister Melanie....

Wow!! She has an amazing voice. I went to her school to see her perform in a talent show. She is very musically talented. She plays the guitar and clairinet and the piano also. Check out Melanie. Sorry it is so far away. Aubrey started fussing right when she began, so I had to pass the camera over to Lolly to film it.

Spencer and his best friend Dallin

My friend Staci is Dallin's mom, and she and her husband coach the soccer team. We are great friends and so are our boys. They wish they were brothers. Anyway, Staci took these pictures of the boys today while they were playing (the ones in the tree). of course the other ones were taken at practice and a game. These boys are like 2 peas in a pod, so cute!

Some soccer footage of Spencer

He is really learning how to read the field. Today 2 other players on his team made goals. Usaully Spencer has been the only one. Hopefully he doesn't get a big head. He really is doing a great job.

The Birthday Girl

I love that she has enough hair for little ponytails!!

Aubrey's Is ONE

So my baby is one. It is crazy how the time flies. i know i have lots of pictures of her. i'll try and post some of the boys. But, she is just sooo sweet. She does have her share of naughtiness too, but having a girl has made our lives so wonderful.

Basement Update

Well In January we got the carpet laid and moved downstairs. In February we finished the Bathrooms, well almost Jarom still has to grout and seal the backsplash. But we finally got mirrors and shower curtains and toilet paper holder, all the finishing touches that I was amazed how much it added up to. It all looks great and we have so much more space. We love it I am proud of Jarom for working tirelessly on the endless projects. More pictures to come!

So...... the most recent story is a good one. Last Friday, I awoke and found water at the bottom of the stairs. Yeah, that nice basement we just finished, FLOODED. We first thought it was the irrigation, because they just put the water in the canals. But I went to take some things in the storage room and found 3 inches of standing water in there. I also saw it coming out that wall in there and also heard water running in there. I moved up the stairs and outside so fast. sure enough... our garden hose was on full blast and pointing at our foundation. I turned it off and called Jarom and told him I found the problem. He came home within the hour and shop vac'd about 35 gallons of water up before the disaster Kleenup people even got here. And because it was coming from the ground down to the basement water kept on coming in the wall for another 3 hours. AHHH. so now we only have 2 children. The night before the kids were outside playing before Spencer's soccer practice. I was doing laundry and dishes so I didn't hear the water. We figure it ran about 20 hours. Can't wait to get the water bill and power bill. They ran like 15 different fans all weekend. yikes. Luckily, there isn't to much damage. We will have to replace the carpet pad and patch a little drywall, but that is pretty much it. Jarom is going to cap the line, so only he can use it. Argghh. what next? BRING IT ON! I feel like I a am prepared for anything. well maybe. NOT!

Tag I'm it......

A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago...I was going to school in Logan, at Utah State and dating a boy semi-seriously... I thought.
2. What is on my to-do list for today?I have a dentist appt. (I had one a few weeks ago that resulted in Lock Jaw.. and now half of my face is numb. Hopefully they can help rsolve this for me.) Getting the carpet in the boys room replaced. Laundry, overall tidy up. soccer practice at 6:30 and season priemiere of the office at 7pm. Whew!
3. What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire? I would have to pay all mine and jarom's families houses and cars off, travel, give to charities, randomly give to homeless people, dump a bunch into the perpetual education and missionary funds, you know stuff like that. Blow my nose with it. Wipe my tears with it. That is a lot of money.
4. 3 Bad habits... biting my nails. I quit when I was companions with this one OCD sister, but picked it up again after I had my first child.
I also don't file my bills or important papers for a long time and they stack up on my counter. It usually takes about a month before I fianlly go through them and....start a new pile.
My husband said I have to add... " thanks for helping me to focus on the negative things I do"
so I'll add some good habits I have.
I am a good friend. I would pretty much do anything for my friends. I'd like to think I am a good mom. I put their needs above my own. I love my family(kids and husband) very much. I am a good missionary.
5. Places I have lived.....Grew up in Evanston, WY. moved to Boise. Went to school in Logan. Went to Arizona and Idaho/ Oregon on a mission. Now live in Nampa, ID.
6. Places I have worked... First job was McDonalds. I worked at Hastings, Wal-mar to name a few. I worked in Yellowstone on the trail crew. Before I got married I was a buyer for Lee Read Jewelers.
7. Things people don't know about me... I remember Phone numbers really well. I am pretty much a walking phone book. I didn't shave my legs for 2 1/2 years after high school. Gross I know. But I saved a lot on shaving cream and razors!! I have fibromyalgia.
I would like to tag the following....staci,julieann,candee

Wednesday woes

So Wednesday is Jarom's longest day. And somehow it always manages to be mine as well. I think Aubrey must be teething, because she has had fevers off and on for about 4 days, and is exceptionally whiney. But where are the teeth? "Show yourselves I say!" I get nothing done, and Poor Jarom is exhausted when he gets home and I say... Please hold your daughter while I make some food for us.
Yay for cereal and mac and cheese that the kids can make themselves, because i am no good as a one handed cook.
So I thought I'd vent here since Jarom doesn't get good reception in Oregon and my calls keep getting dropped.
thanks for listening.
